Who would have thought

The competition isnt over and greg joseph can very well be resigned if moody falters

Unless some team grabs him.

And if some other team does then someone else will be available. It's not like Joseph is a great kicker.

When I think about this kicker, I see a Walmart sledge hammer.
It's wild the leash Kyle gives players that routinely suck but others he immediately puts in the dog house. Just like last year at some point this dude is going to cost them a game or two.

A lot of us are spoiled with accurate kickers. Joe Nedney, Phil Dawson, David Akers, to Robbie Gould. Moody had a solid rookie year then got hurt. Not to excuse his performance because it was terrible and likely cost us 2 games. I'd give him a shot this year to bounce back personally. He's young, has talent and has yips. Everyone out there is old and either doesn't have the leg strength to kick past 50 or has the same problem

Yeah, and can you imagine the explosion here if they spent a draft pick on a kicker this past draft? :)

The problem is how do you know which kicker is going to hit the FG in the game until you try? I think it kind of explains why the 49ers spent so much for kickers over the years.

No he's not, was this an actual rep against the broncos though?

The issues are not even the real games as a whole. It's the clutch kicks. Can he make the kicks on a consistant basis with the game on the line.

He was clutch under Harbaugh in Michigan. Jury still out in the big leagues.

Do they even do kicking reps in joint practices against ST units ? Is that even a thing ?
AFAIK kickers just practice kicking from certain spots without actual protection or often even long snappers. I may be wrong.

It's also about how do the kicks look. Some of his kicks look like a pitcher with really good movement on his breaking balls.

You don't.

What we do know is that Moody will s**t the bed when the game is on the line.
